Alec Wilczynski is Of Counsel to Philip Levin & Associates where he represents clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services as well as the U.S. State Department and its consulates abroad. An attorney and former Foreign Service officer, Mr. Wilczynski joined the State Department in 1982 and first worked as a Consular Officer in Mexico City, Mexico. From there, he went on to serve overseas tours in Argentina, the Philippines, and several posts in Japan. During his career, Mr. Wilczynski worked on visa and immigration matters filed with the State Department, as attorney-advisor for the Visa Office in Washington, DC, Chief of the Visa Section in Tokyo, Japan, and as Consul General in Sapporo, Japan. During his time in Tokyo, Mr. Wilczynski was a frequent speaker and organizer of seminars and lectures aimed at assisting Japanese companies understand the complexity of business immigration.

In addition to his work as a Consular Officer, Mr. Wilczynski has considerable experience in the area of international trade and investment. He worked as a Trade Negotiator at the Office of the US Trade Representative in Washington, negotiating bilateral agreements aimed at securing international protection for US intellectual property rights holders. Mr. Wilczynski was also the lead negotiator for a number of air services agreements between the US and its trading partners, e.g., the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Turkey and Ghana. Just prior to leaving government service in 2007, Mr. Wilczynski was the Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to the National Center for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Seattle, Washington.

Mr. Wilczynski also teaches business and copyright law at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California and was on the faculty of the National Foreign Affairs Training Center in Arlington, Virginia, where he taught trade negotiations.
